The "Mystical" Mittens Gateways of the Gods

 

Lately I have been researching the possibility that gateway, stargate, and wormhole symbolism is perceivably being downloaded into the consciousness of humanity via public events, mass media, and especially art and architecture.  For more information on gateway symbolism emerging in our art and architecture please visit my previous posts or my website www.chadstuemke.com .  That being said I have been delving into some of the stargate and gateway imagery here in my home state of Michigan and in particular  Detroit.  While previously I have been focusing on the modern symbolism emerging in Michigan, today I would like to focus on some ancient myth and lore from the great lakes containing representations of "the Gateways of the Gods"!

Arch Rock (Mackinaw Island Michigan)

The first legend we will take a look at comes from northern Michigan's Mackinaw Island.  It is an Ojibwa myth in regards to the islands sacred Arch Rock.  Two thing that come to mind when viewing Arch Rock. The first is Utah's sacred Rainbow Bridge! The second is St. Louis's Gateway Arch.  Both of which contain "Rainbow Bridge" symbolism.  (for a brief explanation on the Gateway Arch  Rainbow Bridge symbolism please see my previous post - Urban Portals, Gateways in Our Cities.  http://divineportal.blogspot.com/2009/08/urban-portals-gateways-in-our-cities.html .  In myth and lore from around the world the arch and the "rainbow bridge" are seen symbolically as intermediaries between the earthly realms and the heavenly realms.  In investigative mythologist William Henry's book (Ark of the Christos) he points out that symbolically speaking the arch or bow can be seen as representative of the "Gate of Heaven"!  Now lets take a look at the Ojibwa myth surrounding Arch Rock.

The bark lodges of an Ojibwa village clustered along the northern rim of Lake Huron.  Here dwelt the tribal chief and his daughter, Red Wing.  She was one of the loveliest of the ojibwa maidens and as good as she was beautiful. Her fingers were skillful at tanning skins into velvety softness.  The quills of the porcupine she could weave into colorful designs.  Baskets, too, she made, and she brought the rush leaves from the lake and wove them into mats.  She gathered and dried the Indian corn and cooked it into savory dishes.  The roots and seeds of the water lilly she prepared for eating.  Much she knew about the lore of plants- what was good for food and what was good for medicine.

     The young men of the tribe were all in love with her and brought many presents to the door of her father.  And though the chief looked with favor on several of the young braves, Red Wing kept her eyes to the ground and paid no heed to their soft words or glances.  For, unknown to her father, Red Wing was already betrothed!

    One sundown, as she guided her canoe homeward from wild rice gathering, a handsome brave, enveloped in a glowing light, appeared before her.  His voice was gentle as he said: 

"My dear one, have no fear of me, though I come from another world.   In my home land, I am the son of a chief-the son of the Evening Star.  Often have I watched you at your labors, or as you laughed with the other maidens.  From the very first I have loved you and have longed to tell you of my love.  But this could not be, for I am a Sky Dweller, and you are of the Earth World.  Then I saw the young men coming to the door of your lodge, and knew that you were the cause of their coming.  My heart grew very heavy.  I lay upon my couch, sad and bitter, until my father saw my trouble and understood.  He has said that I might come to you and tell you of my desire for you.  Red Wing, do not marry one of the Ojibwa braves.  Marry no one until you can join me in my Sky Home!"

      "I will marry none but you," Red Wing promised.  "Of late I have thought it strange that I seemed apart from all others.  Now I know this was meant to be and I, too, love you dearly."

    So it came about that Red Wing gave no answer to the young men.  Often she saw her Star Lover as she paddled on the lake, and the deeper grew their feeling for each other.

    At last the father of Red Wing grew impatient that his daughter had no husband.  "My child," he said,"many of our bravest youths come to my door.  They do not come to see me, but to ask your hand in marriage.  And you do not notice them.  You sit with downcast eyes and give no word of greeting.  You serve them food, but do not smile upon them.  A daughter can not dwell for always in her father's lodge.  Can you not choose one from among them?"

     " No, my father," answered Red Wing.  "There is only one young man that I look upon with favor, and he is not of this Earth.  He is the son of the Evening Star.  He has come before me in the woods at night, and when I have paddled upon the lake.  We have told each other of our love.  I can marry no man of the Ojibwa, for I am his."

   The father of Red Wing was very angry.  He spoke harshly to her and commanded that she forget about the son of the Evening Star.  There could be no marriage between Spirit One and one who dwelt on Earth.  Red Wing declared that she would not marry until the time came for her no longer to live on the Lake Huron shores.

     Her father then commanded that she follow him.  Getting into his canoe he paddled across the blue water.  He sent the canoe forward with swift strokes until they reached an island where towered a great rock.  He carried Red Wing in his arms to the crest of the stone and there bound her with rawhide ropes, so that she could not see the star where her lover dwelt.  "Here you will stay," he said, "until you can forget him."  

      Red Wing made no answer.  But as she lay upon the rock she mourned for her Star Brave and cried because she could not see the light from his home.  Four suns she lay upon the rock and wept,  and her tears flowed down over the side.  Many, many tears, and little by little they crumpled the rock away until an arch was carved.  Through the arch shown the Evening Star at last, and down it's rays came the handsome Star Youth.  He Gathered Red Wing in his arms and took her away to dwell in peace with him in the heavens.

The next piece of myth and lore we will explore comes from region most Michiganders refer to as the "Thumb".  This area encompasses Bay City, Saginaw, and the surrounding vicinity.

THE SKY WALKER OF HURON

Here is the myth of Endymion and Diana, as told on the shores of Saginaw Bay, in Michigan, by Indians who never heard of Greeks. Cloud Catcher, a handsome youth of the Ojibways, offended his family by refusing to fast during the ceremony of his coming of age, and was put out of the paternal wigwam. It was so fine a night that the sky served him as well as a roof, and he had a boy's confidence in his ability to make a living, and something of fame and fortune, maybe. He dropped upon a tuft of moss to plan for his future, and drowsily noted the rising of the moon, in which he seemed to see a face. On awaking he found that it was not day, yet the darkness was half dispelled by light that rayed from a figure near him—the form of a lovely woman.

"Cloud Catcher, I have come for you," she said. And as she turned away he felt impelled to rise and follow. But, instead of walking, she began to move into the air with the flight of an eagle, and, endowed with a new power, he too ascended beside her. The earth was dim and vast below, stars blazed as they drew near them, yet the radiance of the woman seemed to dull their glory. Presently they passed through a gate of clouds and stood on a beautiful plain, with crystal ponds and brooks watering noble trees and leagues of flowery meadow; birds of brightest colors darted here and there, singing like flutes; the very stones were agate, jasper, and chalcedony. An immense lodge stood on the plain, and within were embroideries and ornaments, couches of rich furs, pipes and arms cut from jasper and tipped with silver. While the young man was gazing around him with delight, the brother of his guide appeared and reproved her, advising her to send the young man back to earth at once, but, as she flatly refused to do so, he gave a pipe and bow and arrows to Cloud Catcher, as a token of his consent to their marriage, and wished them happiness, which, in fact, they had.

This brother, who was commanding, tall, and so dazzling in his gold and silver ornaments that one could hardly look upon him, was abroad all day, while his sister was absent for a part of the night. He permitted Cloud Catcher to go with him on one of his daily walks, and as they crossed the lovely Sky Land they glanced down through open valley bottoms on the green earth below. The rapid pace they struck gave to Cloud Catcher an appetite and he asked if there were no game. "Patience," counselled his companion. On arriving at a spot where a large hole had been broken through the sky they reclined on mats, and the tall man loosing one of his silver ornaments flung it into a group of children playing before a lodge. One of the little ones fell and was carried within, amid lamentations. Then the villagers left their sports and labors and looked up at the sky. The tall man cried, in a voice of thunder, "Offer a sacrifice and the child shall be well again." A white dog was killed, roasted, and in a twinkling it shot up to the feet of Cloud Catcher, who, being empty, attacked it voraciously.

Many such walks and feasts came after, and the sights of earth and taste of meat filled the mortal with a longing to see his people again. He told his wife that he wanted to go back. She consented, after a time, saying, "Since you are better pleased with the cares, the ills, the labor, and the poverty of the world than with the comfort and abundance of Sky Land, you may return; but remember you are still my husband, and beware how you venture to take an earthly maiden for a wife."

She arose lightly, clasped Cloud Catcher by the wrist, and began to move with him through the air. The motion lulled him and he fell asleep, waking at the door of his father's lodge. His relatives gathered and gave him welcome, and he learned that he had been in the sky for a year. He took the privations of a hunter's and warrior's life less kindly than he thought to, and after a time he enlivened its monotony by taking to wife a bright-eyed girl of his tribe. In four days she was dead. The lesson was unheeded and he married again. Shortly after, he stepped from his lodge one evening and never came back. The woods were filled with a strange radiance on that night, and it is asserted that Cloud Catcher was taken back to the lodge of the Sun and Moon, and is now content to live in heaven.

The Belle Isle Snake Goddess & Gate Keeper

The next story comes from Belle Isle in Detroit Michigan.

Ottawa Indian lore tells of the beautiful daughter of chief Sleeping Bear. Her beauty was so stunning that the Chief kept her hidden from the eyes of young suitors by hiding her in a covered boat on the Detroit River. One day when bringing her some food, the winds, awed by her beauty, blew the covers off of the boat and it floated down the river. as it floated past the lodge of the keeper of the water gates, he also was stunned by her beauty and retrieved to boat and brought the young beauty into his tent, this enraged the winds who fell upon him, and buffeted him wildly about until he finally died from the beating. The winds, sorry for uncovering her beauty, returned her back to her father, Chief Sleeping Bear and begged the chief not to hide her from them again, but to let them enjoy her beauty. 

To protect her the chief, fearful that other men would follow, placed the princess on an island in the Detroit River and sought the aid of the Great Spirits to protect his beloved daughter by surrounding the island with snakes to protect her from intruders. 

There she could run free with the winds around her, The spirits immortalized her by transforming her into a white doe and letting her live out eternity on the island. When the first white men appeared in the area they originally named the island Isle Ste. Clair. but once they became familiar with the island, they renamed it Rattlesnake Island. It was not much later that it became known as Belle Isle. To this day, the maiden's spirit can be seen from time to time dancing in the wind on the island and most unsuspecting picnickers don't realize that the lovely girl in Native costume is not a modern miss dressed for a pageant, but is in reality the Goddess of Belle Isle. also know as the Snake Goddess of Belle Isle. 

There she runs free through the woods with the gentle winds and wildlife as her companions. Legend has it that the beautiful Indian maiden still roams the woods often mistaken by picnickers as a deer. 

The water-gate keeper, who was killed by the angry winds was buried on Isle au Peche (Peach Island), where his spirit remained for many generations. Native American braves often sought out this spirit for counsel before going to war. 

His voice was heard through the wind in the trees and could be understood only by those who had prepared themselves through fasting and meditation. Even Chief Pontiac, before planning his war against the English, spent a week on Isle au Peche, fasting in order to clear his mind, and to seek the wisdom of the water gate keepers spirit.²¹   

      Imagine my surprise when I visited  Belle Isle in 2009 only to see the white female doe!!  The park just opened a new exhibit called ‘The Deer Experience’. The focal point of this experience is a family of white deer!!

Belle Isle is approximately one mile east of Hart Plaza (Stargate Detroit). The Norway Spiral (The Initiation of Wormhole Consciousness)

“The mystery began when a blue light seemed to soar up from behind a mountain in the north of the country. It stopped mid-air, then began to move in circles. Within seconds a giant spiral had covered the entire sky.  Then a green-blue beam of light shot out from its centre - lasting for ten to 12 minutes before disappearing completely.”  The Mail Online Dec. 10th

On December 9th, 2009, in an unprecedented event the symbol of the wormhole was imprinted into the consciousness of humanity.  In the sky above Norway an enormous spiral emitting a blue beam of light appeared around 8 in the morning. For lack of better words many witnesses described the spiral in the sky as appearing like a wormhole or stargate that swirled in the sky only to dissipate into what looked like a black hole. Coincidently or not this event took place during one of the largest world summits ever held, The Copenhagen Climate Summit. It also took place just one day before President Barack Obama delivered his Noble Peace Prize speech.  Leaders and influential people from around the world just happened to witness one of the most incredible light displays in recent recorded history.

Shortly after the light show in the sky speculations began to run ramped.  Postulations ranged from extraterrestrial contact and wormholes opening above Norway to a  possible Russian rocket misfire. The day of the event Russia denied this senerio. By the next day the “Norway Spiral” story had reached epic proportion and not surprisingly Russia changed there statement, they had launch a failed rocket but had no comment on wether or not the strange light phenomenon could be attributed to it’s launch. There are several reasons why Russia may have recanted on their story; maybe they were just feeling the international pressure and decided to come clean.

 Maybe. But their is another scenario; What I immediately thought  of when I heard the story had changed was how other U.F.O sightings like the Phoenix Lights had followed a similar scenario. In these cases military also officially denied the reports of having anything to do with them initially, later when the story escalated the official response begin to change. In the case of the Phoenix Lights the military later decided to confirm it was them dropping flares over the city of Phoenix that resembled an enormous U.F.O. Later it was discovered the military did drop flares in the vicinity that evening yet this occurred hours after the initial sighting. Many witnesses to the Phoenix Lights feel this was was done intentionally by the military so for one the the facts would be scrabbled  and two they could actually prove that planes were in the air in the vicinity of the lights. 

Could a similar scenario have taken place with the Norway Wormhole and the Russia “Ballistic Rocket”? This is pure speculation on my part, but I believe it’s worth pondering. 

While on the subject of U.F.O.'s it is worthy to note that on the same day of the Norway Wormhole a U.F.O. was filmed hovering above Russia's Kremlin!

The object has been compared to an Imperial Cruiser in the Star Wars films and witnesses estimated it could be up to a mile wide. Two film clips exist which appear to show the same object and footage has been repeatedly playing on Russian television news channels.  The shots, one taken at night from a car and one during the day, were both filmed by amateurs. The 'craft' was said to have hovered for hours over Red Square in the Russian capital. The clips of the 'invasion' have gone to the top of the country's version of YouTube. The identity of the shape has not been confirmed. Russian reports ruled out a UFO but police refused to comment. Nick Pope, a former Ministry of Defence UFO analyst, said it was "one of the most extraordinary UFO clips I've ever seen". "At first I thought this was a reflection but it appears to move behind a power line, ruling out this theory."A spokesman for aerospace journal Jane's News said: "We have no idea what it is."

 Speculations have ranged from a meteor, aliens, a wormhole, a stargate, Project Blue-Beam, etc. In regard to the symbol of the spiral in of itself, Dr. Mark Gray recently mentioned in a radio interview that, “This symbol is a womb, it’s a gateway, a doorway, it’s the symbol of new life. It’s a symbol of something that can get you from one dimension to another and this just opens up a whole can of worms(holes) of thinking and possibilities.”

    “Prince Charles opens up a can of Wormholes” W.H.

There’s another take in-particular that stands out to me, and that is William Henry’s. William recently pointed out to me an interesting statement that Prince Charles made during his speech at the Copenhagen Climate Summit. 

“For the grim reality is that our planet has reached a point of crisis and we have only seven years before we lose the levers of control.” Prince Charles

William wonders what is the basis for Prince Charles assertion, he states “Bible prophecy watchers immediately recognize this as the same seven year period of “tribulation” that portends “the second coming of Christ”, before believers are safely “raptured” (apotheosized) off the planet and saved from the wrath to come.” This leads us the the question, “Is Prince Charles fear mongering or tipping us off that he’s reading the signs of our age?” 

In William Henry’s most recent article, (The Norway Spiral: Wormhole of the Angel of the Apotheosis or Russian Missile?) he mentions “According to Bible prophecy, Two Witnesses will appear during this time who give the AntiChrist a hard time and ‘open the door’ for the Messianic figure.”  In many pieces of ancient art this messianic figure appears to be emerging from a wormhole or even a stargate!  http://www.williamhenry.net/blog.html

I can not say for certain what or who painted what appeared to be a wormhole in the sky over Norway. Was it a misfired rocket? A wormhole, a sign of things to come, a stargate or something else? What I can say though is that on December 9th a wormhole was drilled into the consciousness of millions of people across the world. A ‘gateway’ was opened in the minds of humanity that has been prophecisized for thousands of years. Like my friend Ray said, “If this was a rocket some force used it as a paintbrush to paint a wormhole in the sky.”

Urban Portals (Gateways in our Cities)

URBAN PORTALS (GATEWAYS IN OUR CITIES)

Today what I plan on sharing is the possibility that over the past several decades art and architecture has popped up in many of our cities and public venues that has been arranged in such a way that they can be utilized as portals or stargate devices! These ‘gateways are hidden in plain site just waiting to be recognized and utilized by those of us who are aware of them!
Modern portals in todays day and age are being placed on sacred landscapes, just as churches and sacred monuments were in the past. These monuments are springing up on pieces of land that have in many instances been held sacred for hundreds if not thousands of years. Now this is where it starts getting interesting. While some of the modern art and architecture has surely been aligned with both sacred sites and the heavens(stars) intentionally and consciously, others have been developed and pieced together unconsciously by the artist and architects!
Now Initially some may consider the aligning of this architecture with sacred sites and the stars coincidence. What I plan on showing is that when we begin to have coincidences and synchronicities that continually pile up in regards to one monument or park that they are no longer coincidences or synchronicities, they are messages! The uniqueness of these messages is I believe that they are meant for us. By us I mean those who can tune into the symbols, become aware and recognize their hidden meanings.

Stargate Chicago (Millennium Park)

Millennium Park was completed in 2004 and has become the worlds largest roof top garden.

Seemingly the Human Chakra system is represented in the growing gardens of Millennium Park. Chakra is a Sanskrit word that translates as wheel or disc or turning. These rotating vortices of subtle matter, they are considered the focal points for the reception and transmission of energies. In the Hinduism concept of the Chakra system 6 or 7 chakras along the body's axis became the dominant model, adopted by most schools of yoga. It is in this model where Kundalini is said to "rise" upward, piercing the various centers until reaching the crown of the head, resulting in union with the Divine.

Although the Crown Chakra is not represented in the growing gardens I suggest we follow the Serpent (Kundalini) Bridge and see where it leads! The kundaline can symbolize an unconscious, instinctive force envisioned either as a goddess or else as a sleeping serpent coiled at the base of the spine. This Life-Force energy or “Serpent power” is known to bring about psychological illumination when it is activated and utilized.

Jay Pritzker Pavilion- The same designer of the serpent bridge also created the incredible pavillion, Frank Gehry. The Chicago Tribune dubbed Gehry "the hottest architect in the universe" The Pavillion has the most intricate outdoor sound system in the U.S. The sound and vibration literally surround you. The Stainless stell band shelter has been described as both a headdress and pedals. Lotus petals? Could this “headdress” sprouting petals symbolize the Crown Chakra? And possibly tune,tones, and or vibrations have something to do with blasting it open?

After crossing the Serpent Bridge and getting in 'tune' with the lotus pedaled amphitheater next stop is CLOUD GATE!

Cloud Gate, a public sculpture by British artist Anish Kapoor, is the centerpiece of the AT&T Plaza. Made up of 168 stainless steel plates welded together, its highly polished exterior has no visible seams. It is 33 feet by 66 feet by 42 feet and weighs 110 short tons! Kapoor's design was inspired by liquid mercury . The sculpture challenges perception by distorting and deforming the surrounding architecture. The sculpture also warps viewers' perception of time by changing the speed of movements such as the passing of clouds.[ in the conventional sense Cloud Gate is not an opening that leads anywhere in the same way that monumental gates do. it creates a ceremonial place. A place of reflection the unconventional gateway leads to a transformation of consciousness.
On its surface the viewer sees the reflection of the phallic skyline, the clouds above and himself; as if the sky, earth and the human soul have been conjoined in a transcendent communion. “Cloud Gate” encompasses a space that is both material and spiritual at a level beyond the immediate comprehension of the viewer. Kapoor talks of this experience as being “a direct attribute of the sublime”

Also in MillenniumPark are the URBAN ACTIVATORS!

Urban Activators- London-based Zaha Hadid and Amsterdam-based Ben van Berkel of UNStudio have designed architectural exhibits in Millennium Park this summer to honor the forward-looking spirit of the Plan of Chicago.
“At night, UNStudio’s pavilion becomes a responsive architecture with LED lights that change color and pattern. These lights will be in constant flux as the number of visitors to the pavilion changes. Programmatically the pavilion invites people to gather, walk around and through the space—to explore and observe. It’s sculptural form and reactive lights will spark curiosity and wonder in its visitors.” Frank Gehry The sculptural UNStudio pavilion is highly accessible and functions as an urban activator.

CROWN FOUNTAIN

If your crown chakra hasn't been blow open by crossing the Serpent Bridge, Taking in the tunes and tones from the lotus pedaled amphitheater, going through the Cloud Gate, and being activated by the Urban Activators, then there is one more piece of architecture that will! Crown Fountain Designed by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa and inspired by the people of Chicago, The Crown Fountain consists of two 50-foot glass block towers at each end of a shallow reflecting pool. The towers project video images from a broad social spectrum of Chicago citizens, a reference to the traditional use of gargoyles in fountains, where faces of mythological beings were sculpted with open mouths to allow water, a symbol of life, to flow out. “A fountain is the memory of nature, this marvelous sound of a little river in the mountains translated to the city. For me, a fountain doesn't mean a big jet of water. It means humidity, the origin of life. “ -Jaume Plensa

Next Stop- St.Louis and THE GATEWAY ARCH Could the Gateway Arch be symbolic of the Rainbow Bridge?

Driving into St.Louis and seeing the Gateway Arch glisten in the colors of the rainbow I immediately was reminded of the mythological "Rainbow Bridge". The “Rainbow Bridge” can symbolize the bridge between Earth and the Heavens, humanity and the gods. But first a little history on the Gateway Rainbow...I mean Arch! In the early 1930s the United States began looking for a suitable memorial for Thomas Jefferson (the Washington Monument and the newly built Lincoln Memorial were the only large Presidential memorials at the time). The memorial to Jefferson would eventually be placed on the actual location that was symbolic of one of Jefferson's greatest triumphs -- the Louisiana Purchase, clearing the way for westward expansion!
The Gateway Arch is known as the "Gateway to the West". It was designed by Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen and structural engineer Hannskarl Bandel in 1947 and built between 1963 and 1968. It is the only building in the world based on the catenary arch, making it the iconic image of the city. It stands 630 feet (192 m) tall and 630 feet (192 m) wide at its base. The Arch is a structure known as a catenary curve, the shape a free-hanging chain takes when held at both ends, and considered the most structurally-sound arch shape. -- Each year, approximately a million visitors ride the trams to the top of the Arch.
Eero Saarinen - Architect With a Vision -"The major concern ...was to create a monument which would have lasting significance and would be a landmark of our time... Neither an obelisk nor a rectangular box nor a dome seemed right on this site or for this purpose. But here, at the edge of the Mississippi River, a great arch did seem right.

So just because the Gateway glistens in the colors of the rainbow doesn't mean it is symbolic of the rainbow bridge. That being said I decided to journey into the basement of the Gateway and take the tram ride to the top. I was curious if I would find any symbolism inside.

THE BUILEDERS MURAL- this mural is in the basement of the Gateway arch and is dedicated to the builders and architects of American monuments. But there is one monument out of place, not built by man! Utah’s Rainbow Bridge. And look who’s seemingly sitting on it, Lady Liberty!!

After seeing the symbolism in the mural I knew I needed to make the journey to the top of the arch. After waiting in line the last piece of art you see is a large scale. The children weigh eachother, and who ever is the lightest felt they had won the game ang was rewarded by going first on the 'ride'!

In ancient Egypt at the time of Judgment Day the heart was weighed on the scales of Maat (Justice) against that of a feather. If the heart weighed less than the feather the soul was granted permission to cross the Rainbow Bridge to the “Dimension of the Blessed”!
Symbolically speaking if your heart was lighter than the feather you are then afforded the opportunity to enter the Sun-Door(Stargate) and scale the Rainbow Bridge, oh I mean Gateway Arch! So I guess it should have been no suprise that the tram car looks like a Sun-Door (stargate)!

To me this symbolism says that we can work on our light bodies and rainbow bodies in the here and now, and that these pieces of architecture may be a catalyst in this process assisting in a transformation of our consciousness. Considering the rainbow bridge symbolism incorporated in the sculpture I propose we can use the monument as a catalyst for transformation, opening our minds, and lightning our hearts and activating our inner rainbow bridges, our Chakra system.

THE GATEWAY MALL

- The Gateway mall sits at the base of the Gateway Arch and is also part of the Jefferson National Expansion. Within the confounds of the mall are several attractions, The Old Court House, Kiener Plaza, and the new sculpture park City Gardens. Lets take a look at a few of the amazing sculptures!

THE DOOR OF RETURN-From the City garden brochure: "The egg-shaped form at the top of the door resembles a seed that has just split open or a mouth that opens to the sky, like a baby' first cry. Artist Kan Yasuda has left the answer deliberately ambiguous, leading us to think about time and space, life and death, the past and the present. When we pass through the door what is the place we are returning to?"

ZENIT (zenith)

I Googled this sculpture to see what others thought of it. A gentlemen by the name of Joe had this to say, we'll call him 'average joe'.

“I was most intrigued by Zenit, which was hidden on a hill in the corner of the garden. The contrasting textures and subjects gave it an other worldly appearance, like something out of Stargate or Guillermo del Toro's imagination.” “With every sculpture we passed, we were reminded of walking through Millennium Park in Chicago. Actually, it made us feel like we were walking in Chicago. City garden had the magical affect of making me look up and admire the city's skyline - something I actually can't remember doing on Market Street before.” Joe

Did Joe say stargate? Millenium Park?

So what does the symbolism incorporated in the Stargate architecture mean for us both as individuals and collectively? By becoming aware of the symbolism and viewing this art in a new light, or from a new perspective, this is a transformation in of itself. And when we see the symbol of the ‘ring’ or even the Arch placed on pieces of sacred landscapes with names in the recognition of transformation, can’t we use them as such? Can we begin to view the Stargate art and architecture as ‘tools? ‘Tools’ that can be used for working on our light or rainbow bodys? ‘Tools’ for sparking our imaginations, raising our consciousness and opening our hearts? Absolutely!
